Department of Catholic Schools Hires New Associate Superintendent
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Please join me in welcoming our newest associate superintendent, Mrs. Kimberly Vigneron. During the challenges of last year, which we navigated with God’s grace and the efforts of all our school leaders, it became apparent that there was a need for additional support. Following standard hiring practices, the Archdiocese formed an interview team that included staff from the Department of Catholic Schools, principals from our elementary and high schools, as well as a representative from the presbyterate. At the conclusion of the search process, the committee unanimously selected Kim to be the next member of our team. Her start date will be August 17.
Kim (photo) will serve as associate superintendent for the Northeast Region of the Archdiocese. Laura Knaus will continue to serve as associate superintendent for the Northwest Region and Eric Haley will continue to serve as associate superintendent for the South Region.
In her new role, Kim will work closely with principals, pastors, and priests in solidum in Macomb and St. Clair Counties to help them in their mission of forming the next generation of joyful missionary disciples. In addition to that, she will collaborate with me and the rest of the Department of Catholic Schools in ensuring that all in our Catholic school communities—especially our students—have ample opportunity to grow in love of our Lord and His Church.
Kim has over 30 years of experience in education, having served as an administrator, instructional coach, and teacher. Most recently she served as principal of Beverly Elementary School in Birmingham. Kim has a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Education, from Hillsdale College, a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University, and an Educational Specialist degree from Wayne State University. She and her husband Gary have two adult sons, Garrett and Griffin. They live in St. Clair and attend Our Lady on the River Parish.
I am excited for Kim to join our team. She brings with her a wealth of experience, a fresh perspective, and a tremendous love for our Lord and His Church. With her joining the Department of Catholic Schools team, we are poised to be able to better serve our Catholic schools.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Deacon Sean Costello
