Dear Prospective Parents and Students,
Archbishop Vigneron and I are pleased to share this guide to our excellent Catholic high schools here in the Archdiocese of Detroit. We encourage you to look at the profiles foreach high school in this book and visit their websites to learn more about those that interest you.
Students in our Catholic high schools acquire the tools to seek wisdom and truth, the discipline to achieve academic excellence, and the capability to transform and enrich the world with the light of Christ’s Gospel. Our schools equip our students well for this world in so many other ways as well:
- Catholic high school graduates are seven times more likely to practice their faith as adults.
- Catholic high school graduates earn 14% more than their public or charter peers.
- Children of color that graduate from Catholic high school are 2.4 times more likely to graduate from college than their public or charter peers.
Recognizing that Catholic schools are the premier teaching center of the Church, Archbishop Vigneron and I invite you to explore our Catholic high schools on the pages that follow. For well over 150 years, the Catholic Church in the United States has been blessed to offer Catholic education as a force for change in society and for growth in theChurch. We hope that you choose to attend one of our Catholic high and become part of this proud and prominent tradition.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Kevin D. Kijewski, J.D.
Superintendent of Catholic Schools
